Insurance

What your benefits actually cover.

Most Canadian extended health plans cover Registered Massage Therapy. The rest of what we do — heat, cold, light, breath, sound — is wellness, not insurance-eligible.

    Insurance-eligibleDirect billing where supported.

  • Deep bodywork (RMT)

    Insurance-eligibleDirect billing where supported.

Sauna, cold, and light therapy may be eligible under HSA / wellness spending accounts. Check your plan.

Direct billing

Carriers we work with

We attempt direct billing for any RMT visit. Whether your specific plan permits it depends on your employer’s contract — confirm with your plan administrator before you arrive.

  • Sun Life
  • Manulife
  • Greenshield
  • Canada Life
  • Equitable Life
  • Desjardins

Direct billing where the insurer permits. Check with your plan administrator first.

How a claim works

    Step 1

Book Bodywork Ritual or Deep Bodywork Ritual, and write RMT in your booking notes if you need benefits paperwork.

    Step 2

Present your benefits card at check-in.

    Step 3

We direct-bill where supported. If not, we issue a CMTO-compliant receipt for you to submit.

Common questions

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

Most plans don’t require a referral for RMT services. Check your plan booklet — a few employer plans still ask for one.

What if my plan doesn’t direct-bill?

We issue a CMTO-compliant receipt at the front desk. You submit it through your plan portal and receive reimbursement directly.

Can I claim couples ritual?

Yes — but only for the guest who receives the RMT treatment. The other guest’s portion is wellness, not insurance-eligible.

What’s the difference between RMT bodywork and your wellness bodywork?

RMT bodywork is performed by a CMTO-registered Registered Massage Therapist and qualifies for extended health benefits. Wellness bodywork is delivered by trained practitioners outside the CMTO scope and does not qualify.

Do you bill ICBC or WSIB?

Not currently. We can issue receipts that you may submit, but we are not on those direct-billing rosters yet.

What’s an HSA, and what counts?

A Health Spending Account is an employer-funded balance you can spend on eligible health expenses. Many HSA plans include sauna, cold therapy, and red light under wellness — check your plan administrator first.
