An experience is easier to enjoy when the recipient can fit it into their life. Before buying, check the terms that determine whether your thoughtful idea becomes a straightforward booking.
Find out what you are giving.
A money value, a named treatment and admission to a particular session are different gifts. Read what is included and whether the recipient may choose something else. Check the full amount they would need to pay for the intended visit, including any applicable taxes or additional charges.
If the gift covers only part of the likely cost, decide whether that is what you intend. A surprise contribution towards an expensive outing can feel different from a surprise afternoon already paid for.
Check the booking path.
- Can the recipient book directly, and how do they redeem the gift?
- Are there date, location or session restrictions?
- What are the stated validity, cancellation, change and refund terms?
- Can another person use it if the original recipient cannot?
- What happens if the chosen experience changes or is unavailable?
Keep the receipt and the terms supplied at purchase. Give the recipient the useful redemption information without making them chase you for a code on the day. Avoid sharing that code in a public photograph.
Leave room for their preference.
Ask whether the kind of experience suits them before choosing an exact treatment. If it is meant to be a surprise, use what you already know about their interests and practical constraints. An invitation to go together can be warm without becoming a condition of the gift.
For current Vellum options, read the gift page and ask about anything the published terms do not resolve. This checklist helps you compare offers; the terms attached to the actual purchase determine what you receive.
