Change the plan when you are ill.

Start with your health, then sort out the booking.

If you feel ill before a shared outing, pause the plan before travelling. A reservation does not tell you whether the activity is appropriate or whether you could pass an illness to someone else.

Use current health guidance.

Ontario advises staying home when sick with a respiratory illness and contacting a health-care provider when needed. Its guidance also explains when symptoms require urgent attention. Use that advice and your own clinician's guidance rather than trying to resolve a health question through a booking desk.

Severe breathing difficulty or chest pain needs urgent medical attention. In an emergency, call 911. A wellness visit is not the next step.

Contact the venue promptly.

Find your confirmation and read the cancellation or rescheduling terms. Tell the venue that you are unwell and ask what options apply to your booking. Keep the reply so the date, credit or charge is clear.

Do not assume that illness guarantees a refund or that arriving in person will improve the options. If other people are joining you, let them know early enough to adjust their plans.

When you are ready to arrange another visit, check the current health advice and availability again. You do not need to select a replacement date while still deciding what care you need today.
